How does it work?
- The device senses motion to indicate the start and ending of the trip. The Mileage Logger uses GPS to log your miles as you drive and transmit the mileage through the cellular network to Vulocity's servers at the start and end of a trip.

How do I log miles automatically?
- Simply plug in the device in your vehicle and allow the device to acquire gps fix; be sure that the device has a full line of sight to the sky. The device will detect the vehicles motion on start and stop and log miles accordingly and automatically.

How do I stop logging miles?
- Simply remove the battery or leave the device running for approximately 13 hours or until battery is discharged.

How long does the battery last?
- The battery lasts approximately 12 hours of continuous use without being charged.

Where should I leave the device in my car?
- We recommend leaving it on the passenger seat, center consoles, or armrest. Leaving the device on the windshield should acquire GPS fix well but is subject to heat damage. GPS may be acquired in the glove box if the device already has a GPS fix.

How do I acquire a GPS fix?
- The device acquires a GPS fix automatically if it is not under metal surfaces or while not indoors. We recommend acquiring a fix when you are outside or in the vehicle. Once GPS fix is acquired, the device should remain synchronized with the satellites.

Will I need to bring the device home and plug it in to download the mileage?
- Vulocity's Automatic Mileage Logger sends all mileage records over the cellular network. No intervention is necessary to capture the mileage.

Does it have to be charged all the time?
- We recommend leaving the device plugged in a all times. If the device runs out of battery while logging miles, the record will be lost and cannot be recovered. This being so, we recommend keeping the Mileage Logger plugged in and charged to prevent such incidences.

How much charging time before the Mileage Logger is fully charged?
- 6 hours of continuous charging should fully charge the battery.

My "On" light is blinking every 10 seconds, what does that mean?
- If the "On" light is blinking every 10 seconds, the device is on.

My "On" light isn't blinking at all, what does that mean?
- If the "On" light does not blink at all, the device has ran out of a battery.

My "GPS" light is blinking, what does that mean?
- The device is syncronized with the GPS satellites and you are ready to log miles.

My "GPS" light isn't blinking, what does that mean?
- The device is not syncronized with the GPS satellites and you are not ready to log miles.
To acquire the GPS fix, make sure that the device is not under metal surfaces or while indoors. We recommend acquiring a fix when you are outside or in the vehicle. Once GPS fix is acquired, the device should remain synchronized.

My "Bat" light is blinking while plugged in, what does that mean?
- The Mileage Logger is recharging the batteries. When the "Bat" light is no longer blinking while plugged in, the device is fully charged.

My "Bat" light is blinking while not plugged in, what does that mean?
- The device's battery levels are low and should be plugged in immediately to avoid losing a session.

What does the + or - button sign do?
- These buttons are reserved for other features.

What does the > button do?

What does the O button do?
- These buttons are reserved for other features.

What does the oval button on the side of the device do?
- These buttons are reserved for other features.

What is the Mini-USB port for?
- The Mini-USB port is used to charge the device using the included charging accessories.

I lose trips sometimes and/or the mileage is not accurate, what should I do?
- A mileage record can be added to your records manually. Each mileage record can be edited at the My Mileage page to adjust mileage differentials.

I ran out of battery while logging miles, can it be recovered?
- Unfortunately, when the device runs out of battery, the mileage record will be lost and can only begin a new session. We suggest keeping the device plugged in at all times to prevent this from happening.

Where can I see my mileage records?
- Visit www.vulocity.com and log in using your username and password that you created at the time of purchase. Click the My Mileage button and select a date range.

Are my mileage records IRS compliant?
- With proper documentation, your records can be IRS compliant. Please refer to IRS Publication 463 - How to prove expenses.

How do I separate my business miles from my personal or commuting miles?
- While logged in and viewing your mileage records, you should see three check boxes to choose whether each record is a business, personal, or commuting purpose.

How do I log in online?
- Visit www.vulocity.com and log in using your username and password that you created at the time of purchase.

I don't remember my username and password, where can I get it?
- Visit www.vulocity.com and click on the Lost Password button to retrieve your username and password.

What browser should I be using?
- We recommend using Internet Explorer 7.

I can't seem to log in, what do I do?

I don't see any records for the miles I have driven. What should I do?
- Check to see if you have GPS before you are starting to drive and when you are stopping. The device requires GPS to log miles and to create mileage records of start/stop locations. Driving into a carport, parking garage or in an area without line of sight to the sky can decrease the performance of device. Also, when generating reports, make sure that the date range selected is correct.

- Vulocity's systems are web based and requires no software to view mileage.

I have deleted mileage records accidentally, how can it be recovered?

Monthly Service Billing/ Purchasing:

How many records am I allowed to log a day?
- Your monthly service allows you to record an average of 20 trips per day. Going above 20 trips per day may result in extra charges in your next billing statement.

Is there a limit on how many miles I may log per month?
- There are no limits to the amount of miles you may log per month.
